Thanks to generous support from the National Science Foundation, UTeachEngineering is able to offer financial awards to eligible engineering and natural sciences majors taking UTeach course. Students must have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5 and be a U.S. citizen to be eligible for funds. There is no teaching commitment attached to the award(s). Students must apply for the award before registering for classes.
Natural Sciences Undergraduate Students
Undergraduate students majoring in natural sciences in the UTeach program will be reimbursed for each UTeachEngineering course completed with a grade of B- or higher, up to a maximum of three courses.
UTeachEngineering courses (offered in the summer only):
- CHE 379 Engineering Design Methods
- CHE 379 Engineering Energy Systems
- ME 379 Design of Machines and Systems
Engineering Undergraduate Students
Undergraduate students majoring in engineering will be reimbursed for each course in the UTeach teaching certification pathway for mathematics, physical sciences, and engineering (courses listed below). To be eligible for reimbursement, a course must be completed with a grade of B- or higher.
UTeach courses required for engineering students certifying in mathematics, physical science, and engineering. Step 1 and Step 2, the UTeach introductory courses, are not included in the list because they are already free for any student to try:

Individuals with Degrees
Engineering and natural sciences degree holders who are admitted to the University of Texas at Austin and the UTeach program for the mathematics, physical sciences, and engineering certification pathway will be reimbursed for all required UTeach professional development courses. Additional content courses (e.g. Calculus, Physics, or Chemistry) are not eligible for reimbursement. To be eligible for reimbursement, a course must be completed with a grade of B- or higher. Post-Baccalaureate students must be registered for at least 6 hours.
To apply for UTeachEngineering funds, complete the application form before the semester for which you are requesting funds begins. Funds for eligible classes will be distributed after grades are confirmed at the end of the semester.
